Let's take a look at the Five Food Groups using the poster hosted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Five Food Groups are the Grain Food Group, Vegetable Food Group, Fruit Food Group, Dairy Food Group, and the Protein Food Group.
Using the poster above, here are some questions that I want you to consider:
-Can you identify some of the nutritional food options shown in each of the Five Food Groups?
-Which of the Five Food Groups is your favorite?
-Which of the Five Food Groups do you eat the most of?
-Which of the Five Food Groups do you need to eat more of?

Learning activity #2
You and your toddler can join in together! Stand up from your seat, and get ready to move to the beat and participate in this "Food Group Fun" - Nutrition Youtube video.
Be sure to listen for the Five Food Groups as shown in the poster above by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Also, listen for the movement that corresponds with each Food Group, which you must mimic during the "Food Group Fun" - Nutrition Youtube video.
