Building a Healthy Plate
for Your Two-year-old toddler
Main Learning Objective #5: Toddler-Two Parents will be able to analyze their child's current nutrition, in order to determine where changes should be made, so that their child's nutrition better aligns with the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) nutritional guidelines for a Two-year-old Toddler.

As parents, it is often difficult to determine whether or not our children are receiving the necessary nutrients for healthy growth and development. Because of this, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has created a website called ChooseMyPlate.gov. The ChooseMyPlate.gov website assists parents in building healthy plates for their children. The key to building healthy plates are to incorporate different Food Group Categories throughout the day; however, it is important to remember that not every Food Group Category must be present at each meal.
